Gurjinder Mehta
CEO & Chairman

Gurjinder Mehta is chairman of the board, and founder, of SIVA Plastics Limited. He was appointed to this position in 2000 when he handed over Managing Director duties to his wife, Neelu.

In the late 1960’s Gurjinder was a fabricator working at Westland Helicopters and subsequently joined the Ford Motor company as a mechanical engineer. In 1979, using the engineering and management skills he had developed, he took the bold step of starting his own business with his wife, founding SIVA Plastics Limited.

During the early 1980’s, they built the business together by delivering good quality service and the incremental purchase, installation and operation of various bag making machines.

The first major milestone of his career came in the form of the installation of the first PE blown film line in 1980. Since then, a number of both mono and co-ex lines have been commissioned under his guidance and supervision.

Married with three children and seven grandchildren (so far!) his interests outside of Siva include gardening, cooking and golf.
 

Neelu Mehta
Managing Director

Neelu Mehta is Managing Director of the group. She is responsible for both the day-to-day running of the company and developing business plans for the long term future of the organisation.

Neelu started her working life when SIVA Plastics was founded in 1979. She was instrumental in its success, looking after the sales, administration and production of products in the early years. She continues to take a very active role in the business and has a hands-on management style.

From the beginning Neelu recognised that exceeding customer’s expectations was the key to building a successful, long-term business for her family. Now she treats everyone at SIVA as her family, which encourages loyalty and the same positive, can-do approach throughout the company.

Outside of work, Neelu is a very keen gardener and a keep fit fan with a Power Plate Passion.
 

Bobby Mehta
Commercial Director

Bobby Mehta became Commercial Director in 2000 with full responsibility for the purchasing and ongoing strategies for expansion and product positioning. His main focus today is driving the business forward in product development, capacity growth and innovation. He is responsible for the commercial and strategic development of the group.

Bobby joined SIVA in 1988, spending his first three years in the sales department, initially in telesales then moving into account management. From 1991, took on additional responsibilities in planning and purchasing primary raw materials. He became Sales Director in 1993 with a focus to drive organic growth of SIVA through the expansion of manufacturing capabilities.

Aside from spending most of his time at SIVA, family is very important to him. He is married and is kept busy with five children. Fitness and personal welfare rank highly, with a positive attitude to nutrition and a focused regime of daily exercise, sometimes to the extreme. He also enjoys cricket, cars and music.
 

Babna Mehta-Athwal
Finance Director

Babna Mehta-Athwal is Financial Director, appointed in 1996. She is primarily responsible for managing the financial risks of the group and is also responsible for financial planning, record-keeping, as well as financial reporting

Babna joined SIVA in 1989 as Logistics Clerk. She became Company Secretary in 1994, responsible for HR, Health and Safety and reporting to the Directors.

Babna believes in prioritising the health & safety of SIVA employees above all other activities. She has two children and personal interests include aerobics and combat keep fit classes as well as running.

Viji Mehta
Marketing Director

Viji Mehta was appointed as Marketing Director of the group in 2003. He has been active in re-aligning the business focus towards high impact consumer packaging.

After gaining a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and an MA in Marketing, Viji joined SIVA in 1997 as Marketing Manager. He was responsible for sales and product development for UK and export markets.

Viji is married. He is a keen golfer and say’s Pebble Beach is the best course he has ever played.
 

Adrian Glen
Technical Director

Adrian Glen became Technical Director in 2004. He is responsible for the successful creation and delivery of SIVA’s products by managing technical risks and opportunities.

Prior to SIVA, Adrian worked for Anglo American Corporation, Gold & Uranium Division (Mining), working in production / technical management on various gold plants in the Free State. He has been with SIVA since 1991, starting in the role of Production Manager, moving onto Operations Manager

Adrian is married with two children. His hobbies include squash and golf.
 

Neville Yates
Production Director

Neville Yates became Production Director for the group in January 2009. He is responsible for the day to day running of the three main SIVA production facilities.

Neville joined SIVA as Print Operations Manager in September 2001 to set up the Flexographic Printing Operation based in Fareham using the latest state of the art production machinery and periphery equipment.

He has over 30 years experience in the flexible packaging industry, with a wealth of operational, managerial and diverse project management skills. Neville is used to working under pressure in a fast moving production environment using his ability to communicate effectively at all levels to get the best from others.

Neville is married with two children. He holds a Black belt 2nd Dan in Karate, representing England successfully and winning a number of gold medals. He has run a number of marathons and completed the toughest ‘ironman’ triathlon in world.
